A TREKKIE

I have been  a trekkie way back to the original.

In an introduction to the original series by the late James Doohan

He explained why they had to scrap the first pilot:

 Gene Roddenberry’s wife Majel Barrett

had been cast as second in command of the star ship

The women in the “test” audience said “Who does she think she is!”

I remember that attitude

Back when women had no rights or status.

Women abused us for campaigning for equal rights for women.

Last century I used to tell people “We might be just living in a huge holodeck”

When the movie  “The Matrix” came out in 1999 I received several phone calls saying

“You’ve got to see this movie”

And although -long long ago one of my lectures told me that I was an original thinker  :P

This wasn’t an idea of mine.

I got the holodeck idea from Star trek TNG season six “Ship in a Bottle”
