ANTHROPHOBIC:
Don’t believe it is an actual word but I have been using it for decades:
Earlier this century my youngest granddaughter said “Nan – you are one!”
I used to think there was something wrong with me because I didn’t accept our cultural norms as absolute:
I remember when women had no rights nor status
Couldn’t buy a house couldn’t have a bank account without husband’s or father’s signature
And landlords refused to rent to separated women
If you were not a white heterosexual male you were nothing
Women, gays, those with a disability and people of colour now have rights
But in our culture
Sociopaths succeed
Psychopaths are glorified
And mindless automatons fit in
Mostly people are good to me
But this isn’t why I dislike humans
Because of our culture influenced by the religion that Constantine had set up to control his empire
Other lifeforms and the planet we live on are not respected
Humans believe they are superior and more intelligent than otter life forms when in my opinion the opposite is so
They label other life forms as vermin
Two weeks ago I watched a young rat die from ingesting a bate I noticed it at 0630 and it was still alive at midnight
My inability to keep my balance and coordinate prevented me from drowning it which I would have done if I could
Our culture labels cultures that live in harmony with the environment as primitive and inferior
When the religion Constantine had set up took over people of the old religion were tortured until they confessed to worshipping a devil and then burned alive
I am hoping that ahimsa will become the norm
