MORE MUSINGS OF AN OLD PERSON

from Facebook

My first job was working with computers that were the size of wardrobes in refridgerated rooms

I had to give up this job when I married as married womenwere not allowed to hold government jobs

So I worked at a well-known hotel as a drink waitress

(we changed to decimal currency 14th February 1966

We used pound shillings and pence as well for a while)

I was given a six pound tip from one table ( a lot back then)

Because I carried a tray in each hand

One  with a jug and beer glasses and

The other with champagne; ice bucket  and glasses

across the dance floor while two men were fighting and in my path

These days I cannot even keep myself balanced
