When I walked this morning there was a snail squashed on the foot path –it really upset me especially as there was nothing I could do to help

When I was younger I thought that I was insane because I cared about other life forms

Probably because my mother threatened to have me put in a mental hospital because I didn’t want to eat meat

I tried my best to practice ahimsa before I was aware of this word/concept

Impossible in a culture that believes only humans have a soul and only money matters

I fed the local birds for 25 years when i lived at Goolwa

When i lived in Goolwa a mindless automaton told me

“Do not to feed the birds -they are meant  to find their own food”

It doesn’t occur to them that the human plague  (of 8.2 Billion) has destroyed the homes and food sources of all other life – making so many extinct.

The larger birds (carnivores) kill the smaller birds for food because thanks to homo sapiens there are not enough mice worms  or small reptiles for them to eat

A couple of years back in Australia they started culling the kookaburras to stop them killing the smaller birds

I feed the crows too –one neighbour complained about their noise

The other told me that she likes the Ibis but not the crow.

Crows like many other life forms are disliked because of cultural programming

The crow I fed, fed the baby before she? fed  herself

I wasn’t able to take a photo because the baby flew away when I walk outside – came back when I went in.

Humans have this effect on me — have said I am anthrophobic for decades

It upsets me that people use poisons and insecticides

And label rats and mice vermin

And then there are kangaroos which most farmers consider vermin and kill them

In the 1970s I was a member of  the original Greenpeace

We were labelled a dangerous radicals

In our culture

it is acceptable for drug companies and cosmetic companies to torture animals

it’s acceptable to kill insects rats, mice, snails and arachnoids

it’s acceptable to factory farm animals           

it’s acceptable to production line slaughter animals

it is acceptable to keep cows constantly pregnant and send their calves to slaughter

it is acceptable for drug companies to keep mares chained to collect their urine

In my opinion the drug companies are worse than the meat industry.

In 1982 the husband of one of my staff asked me to report that suckie calves were left to die of dehydration & starvation.

I was told by someone who bought stock that

all new borns are just left to die that way.

In 1982 I reported what was told to me to the RSPCA who called me a liar and a trouble maker.

I put something in writing but it was ignored.

Years later an acquaintance who had worked in the abattoirs told me that the drug companies ask for this.

And my podiatrist  (an animal activist) told me that the drug companies collect hormones from this type of death.

in our culture

its acceptable chop down trees and kill plants we label weeds

yet it iIs It is NOT  acceptable to swear

be naked

and violence is considered entertainment

humans do not share with one another and definitely not other lifeforms

Considering all the positive changes in my life time I am optimistic that

the caring, intelligent people will prevail and stop all life from becoming extinct.

I wrote and published this sci fi short story a few years ago when the human population was only 7.4 billion:

It is now more than 8 billion.

Our cultural norms and the Protestant Ethic are causing the extinction of all life.

I wrote this as social satire and sympathetic magic

The idea that we were genetically engineered is from Mayan writings plus my belief that humans are not indigenous to the planet

The concept of translocation was once a practice pre Roman Empire and apparently still is in some so called primitive cultures

The idea that humans were livestock for the gods is mine but am sure others have thought this

I chose Ophiuchus because I was I was drawn to this constellation

I chose Kunapipi because I respect and admire the wisdom and spirituality of indigenous Australians

The clairvoyant Experiences of a Sceptic is not a literary masterpiece

but a true story.

I don’t know the meaning of life:

nor understand the nature of reality:

I do know physical death is not the end.

And there are so many amazing stories omitted so as not to break client confidentiality.

This has changed

These days I am abused for caring about insects moths and spiders

And told that insects are vermin and dangerous to my health
