There are so many wise and caring people that follow my blog or comment on Facebook:
I now believe there is hope that the ecological balance will be restored.
On my soap box about trees – again.
The son of the people who own the house next door (investment property) has been “chain sawing for weeks..
When walking this morning I noticed that he has removed all the trees that were on this property
A neighbour (behind my house) aged in his late twenties or early thirties; whose landlord had removed all the trees from the property said he would organise something to give me my privacy back.
When I said that trees are important:
He and his wife just gave me a blank look.
Our local council chops down trees for no apparent reason.
A tree directly across the road from me was chopped down: it wasn’t in the way of anything: Not even the footpath?
Three magpies sat on the footpath looking at a stump that was once their home.
The roads department often removes trees because these trees are supposedly obstruction the view of traffic.
i have often been told that “my” trees are a fire hazard and should be removed:
humans light fires:
trees don’t:
makes sense to me to remove the arsonists instead!
When I was in primary school in the fifties we celebrated Arbor Day by planting trees because humans had realized how important trees are.
Arbor day still exists but it seems people are unaware of this?
Real-estate companies demolish heritage bush land and pay the fines knowing they will make heaps of money from property development.
And then there is “Trees for Life”
which a friend was instrumental in starting:
others took over and the organisation changed.
(Long a go a group of us (Pagans) went around the botanical gardens hugging trees — and doing Monty Python silly walks.)
I used to do bush care:
But I was expected to poison non indigenous plants and kill non indigenous animals.
I won’t use poison and I won’t kill.
“Trees For Life” cut down trees that are not indigenous to the area:
These trees are indigenous to South Australia:
just not the specific area.
It seems to me that this organisation (as well as Greenpeace and Animal Liberation)
have become impotent bureaucracies
populated by mindless automatons trying to be trendy:
this is a broad generalisation and I know that there are still people involved with these groups that care.
I realize that the multinationals are in control of both politicians and the media
reinforcing the concept that only humans and money matter.
I believe that we will change this “status quo”
I have been trying for an hour and half to load a video I recorded on the 4th of February when it started to rain.
I loaded it to Facebook on the 4th with no problems:
but WordPress says there is an error:
and have been unable to work out what the error is.
I have finally given up and I’ve recorded the birds from the video.
enjoy your day

Before the “Industrial Revolution” one’s status went up with one’s age:
When a product was new it was good:
when it was old it was no good.
This attitude transferred to people.
So much has chenged for the better in my life time but our cultural norms and attitudes are making all life extinct.
I still believe there is hope for the ecology because the majority of the younger generation are aware and care.
Have a great day and respect your elders
–as well as other life forms
On my soap box again despite knowing people just don’t want to know.
Wiser and well known people have advocated for other life forms and the ecology long before me.

And there were movies
“The Day the Earth Stood Still” (re make)
And “Avatar’
“Let them eat cake”
a famous quote attributed to Marie-Antoinette, the queen of France during the French Revolution. As the story goes, it was the queen’s response upon being told that her starving peasant subjects had no bread.
Most people have this attitude and response to starving wild life.
e.g.
I am often told
“don’t feed the birds they have to find their own food”
People don’t realize that humans in western culture have destroyed the homes and food sources of all other life forms.
Our norms and attitudes are causing the extinction of all life.
In our culture we don’t share with one another; never mind other life forms.
Karl Marx who advocated sharing – communism – is seen as evil.
And please know China and other so called communist countries have “state capitalism” not communism.
(I wrote a paper on Karl Marx when I majored in sociology)
Some one told me not to go on about the ecology because there is nothing that they can do:
but they and you can:
Do what you can in the microcosm
Feed the birds even if your neighbours abuse you because they don’t want the noise and the poop.
Google eco friendly homes and gardens for ideas:
Don’t use poisons:
Try your best to adhere to ahimsa
Don’t kill insects and mice etc
Enjoy your day
For tree lovers there is an audio meditation to link with a tree.

Please turn up the volume
I cannot record on my phone:
It is old:
and it wont allow the sound recorder download:
I recorded this on the laptop but it requires the volume turning up.

“/ˈmadʒɪk/Submit
noun
1.
the power of apparently influencing events by using mysterious or supernatural forces.
“suddenly, as if by magic, the doors start to open”

The first page of my Book of Shadows which was started in 1983

“Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfil
An it HARM NONE
Do what thou will”
Despite training “would be witches” last century and earlier this century I stopped believing that we create our own reality.
I now acknowledge that we do but that there are other variables influencing this:
not the least being the thoughts and words of other homo sapiens.
Hence the Witches Pyramid “says” To know: to Dare: to Will and TO KEEP SILENT
I used to tell neophytes that it is intent that matters and emotion that empowers.
We draw energy by chanting and dancing (the cone of power).
Most people would be aware of the idea of a self fulfilling prophecy:
“A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behaviour.” Wikipedia

The power of suggestion –When I am in too much pain to cope or my anxiety disorder kicks in I say to my self “RELAX” and “SMILE”.
Try saying smile to yourself and see what happens 😀
A few years ago a wise young lady suggested that I was an empath.
I initially thought “More New Age crap” but the concept fits me.
I have always been able to tell if people were lying and as a child thought that everyone could.
After typing the following I realize that I have gone off on a tangent. Oops!
My children used to call me Doctor Dolittle
(But if you have ever read the book; Hugh Lofting says that livestock don’t have thoughts or feelings: so I am different to the character in the book!)
I feel for non human life forms.
I will not kill anything including mice, rats or insects: or chop down trees.
I remove birds, animals and lizards from the road when they have been hit by the species that think they are the only species that matters.
When I ate meat I would have nightmares that I was an animal in a slaughter house.
I do what I can in the microcosm to help the flora fauna and the ecology.
There is so much available on magic and spells these days:
My favourite is Marion Weinstein’s “Positive Magic”

And this is a quote from Doreen Valiente’s “Natural Magic”:
“Believe in the possibility of what you intend to do, hold it strongly in your mind, and it will happen.”
Both Marion Weinstein and the late Louise Hay insisted that we don’t say anything that we do not want to manifest:
Marion Weinstein recommended that when we hear the media say things that we don’t want to continue to manifesting — e.g. violent crimes or bush fires — to say “Take out of the LAW” — as in the law of cause and effect or universal law.
I just say “DELETE”
Blessed be
and be kind to non- human life.
The title was one of my Dad’s silly sayings.
I haven’t blogged much lately:
And I’ve stopped doing readings all together:
I had no confidence in western medicine:
I suffer from medical and surgical mistakes:
I have had several friends die of medical mistakes:
I have suffered two major traumas from surgery:
I came to under anaesthetic in 1974
I came to with bed perpendicular and horrific chest pains in 1991 and was told that they nearly didn’t get me back:
I worked in this field and saw mistakes:
bad attitudes:
bad practices.
Last year as well as chronic pain and breathing difficulties
(which I’ve had for a decade and one doctor told me there was nothing wrong and I was wasting his time)
I had no energy or strength so finally made a doctors appointment:
it was the 13th of November before I saw the doctor that I trusted.
I was thinking that all that was wrong was that I probably lacked vitamin b12
My doctor sent me for a fasting blood test covering numerous possibilities.
I had the blood test the next day
and that afternoon my doctor sent an ambulance because my troponin was 44 – I had apparently had a heart attack.
I have since had numerous tests related to my heart blockage—which is too deep for stents.
They don’t know the cause of my breathing difficulties.
This last experience with the medical system has changed my attitude.
Doctors, specialists, nurses and ambulance staff have been excellent.
Initially I was in even more pain than usual and couldn’t concentrate or co ordinate (I think the high dose of statin was a contributing factor)
but I am starting to feel a little bit better.
Wasn’t planning on dying for a few years I want to see the thinking caring humans succeed in restoring the ecology.
Enjoy the day
and be kind to non humans
I am happy with my life past and present
but not the culture I am part of:
Where sociopaths are successful
Psychopaths glorified
And it is necessary to be a mindless automaton to fit in.
from the movie THE MATRIX
Considering all the positive changes in my life time I am optimistic that
the caring, intelligent people will prevail and stop all life from becoming extinct.
Enjoy your day
This is a reblog — I am so encouraged these day by the number of people who care about other life forms

In South Australia in the 1970’s and 80’s vegetarians and vegans were not catered for.
There was a cafe on the corner of Hindmarsh Square and Rundle Street Adelaide, called “Carrots” :
one restaurant that catered for vegans
and a Lebanese restaurant that offered a vegetarian platter.
The only vegetarian food one could buy was by Sanitarium
which was, and am guessing still is, owned by the Seventh-day Adventist church.
(And very much appreciated — Thank you Seventh Day Adventists)
We were ridiculed and abused by those in pubs, restaurants and people generally.
I made my own burghers using lentils, vegetable and bread crumbs and at a surprise birthday party for my (now ex) husband all the carnivores were eating these:
not realizing they had no meat.
I didn’t insist my family were vegetarian
I would make a vegetarian dish to share
and also cook meat.
If I ate meat I would have night mares about being an animal in a slaughter house.
I object to factory farming and production line slaughter.
Of course the reason the setup is this way is there are way to many humans.

I didn’t want to eat meat as a child:
for refusing I received a bashing from my mother:
she threatened to have me put in a mental institution
and served me the same meal for breakfast lunch and tea until I ate it.
I have allowed myself to eat meat on a few occasions over the years usually because I was anaemic
The night mares return plus my digestive system doesn’t handle meat.
In this day and age when there are so many vegans, I never expected to be ridiculed but it has happened on several occasions.
I complimented one woman on having soy milk in her coffee and she abuse the hell out of me:
Said that she wasn’t vegan (which according to her is worse than leprosy ) she had soy milk because she liked it.
It is important to me that I am always honest so I must confess that sadly I have only been a part time vegan— but still vegetarian:
Hoping this time around I will stay vegan.
If I ate eggs I bought those produced locally as I have been to the farm where the chickens are and I would live where they live 😀

I cannot watch cooking shows:
Haven’t cooked meat for anyone since 1998
I am horrified that people think eating creature that is boiled alive is a treat.

A friend asked me why vegans avoid dairy :
I explained that the cows are kept continually pregnant:
the calves go to slaughter and their mothers know.
In my opinion the drug companies are worse than the meat industry.
In 1982 the husband of one of my staff asked me to report that suckie calves were left to die of dehydration & starvation.
I was told by someone who bought stock that
all new borns are just left to die that way.
In 1982 I reported what was told to me to the RSPCA who called me a liar and a trouble maker.
I put something inwriting but it was ignored.
Animal Liberation told me to write to my politician.
Nothing.
Years later an acquaintance who had worked in the abattoirs told me that the drug companies ask for this.
And my podiatrist (an animal activist) told me that the drug companies collect hormones from this type of death.
People just don’t want to know.
Blessed be

THIS FOR ALL THE PTSD SUFFERERS WHO ARE TIRED OF BEING TOLD:
“GET OVER IT”
“FACE YOUR FEARS”
“YOU ARE OVER REACTING”
“THERE’S NO NEED TO REACT THIS WAY”
and more
People don’t realize that our flight and flight response is dysfunctional
and if you fight your fight and flight response
it gets worse.
If concentrating on five things you can
see
hear
feel
works for you:
use it.

I have had an anxiety disorder from early childhood
undiagnosed until I was fifty.
In my day PTSD wasn’t acknowledge
Nor was PND
Plus neither women nor children had any rights.
To get to the point:
I would remember the song from “The King and I” and pretend that I was OK
And it worked.
Simple things often work
(I didn’t sing or whistle out loud just silently)

At teachers college the head of the Psychology Department told me what a “happy go lucky person” I was.
Fake until you make it 😛

Enjoy the day
