This blog isn’t about the book, although it was required reading when I was a teachers college in the nineteen seventies.
I actually chose it because I just couldn’t think of an appropriate title for this blog.
I have avoided reading or watching the news for decades and rarely have the television on.
Last century I would be abused for not “taking an interest in current affairs”.
The media doesn’t necessarily give us accurate information.
Reporting crime in detail and ad nauseum causes the increase of crime from both a socio psychological point of view and from a “magical” point of view.
Multinationals rule the world and the media only tells the masses what the “powers that be” want us to know.
An acquaintance of mine who was a Spiritualist minister was interviewed by one of our television stations in the 1970’s. They edited the interview to make her look stupid.
Early this century a friend’s son fell off the balcony of the local pub after drinking too much at “Schoolies”. Because his mother considered it more important to get him into an ambulance than speaking to the media they published a story saying that this boy had tried to commit suicide.
And then there was Lindy Chamberlain whose life the media ruined.
I was abused for defending her;
The mindless masses said
”She doesn’t cry!”
“A dingo wouldn’t kill a baby”
The media blames cats for killing wildlife:
Real-estate development, mining and humans generally are responsible for making non human life extinct.
More than 8 billion humans make up 99 percent of the planets population and we are destroying the homes and food sources of all other creatures.
As humans believe that humans are the only species that matters, we will soon make all life extinct, including ourselves.
In the1990’s when the so called new age stuff became popular a television station ( at a wiccan conference) asked to interview me because I was an high priestess
A radio station left a message on my answering machine to interview me re clairvoyance
And a magazine wanted to interview me regarding clairvoyance
I refused all three

In the 1970s I was ridiculed for being a vegetarian –for being a member of Animal Liberation
Greenpeace was considered a dangerous radical group and its member deviants
And women abused us for being in Women’s Liberation
Environmental groups have devolved into impotent bureaucracies and women’s lib has gone to ridiculous extremes —all we wanted was equal rights.
Plus attitudes haven’t changed much –So many people are horrified at the idea of zero population growth and quote horrors that have happened in China
Once upon a time the church would tell us what to think and do
Now it is the media
HAIL TO THEE ORIGINAL THINKERS

In the days when only white hetrosexual males had rights and status the mindless masses believed this was how thngs should be 😦
Original thinkers are no longer put to death
nor put in a mental institution:
they are just treated with contempt by mindless automatons.
Original thinkers see beyond their cultural programming:
OUR CULTURAL NORMS ARE MAKING ALL LIFE EXTINCT
The concept that only humans matter is so destructive to the ecology
chopping down trees:
culling other life forms because they are considered vermin or dangerous:
Destroying flora and fauna for real estate development:
thinking concrete is better than dirt:
refusing to implement zero population growth.
and so much more.

In the following book I hope to help those who wish to develop their clairvoyant abilities.
In “The Clairvoyant Experiences Of A Sceptic” I told a few of my clairvoyant experiences.
Listening to others similar stories made me realize that
it is so much better if you can have these experiences first hand.

but a true story. I majored in sociology not literature
I dont know the meaning of life:
nor understand the nature of reality:
I do know physical death is not the end.
And there are so many amazing stories omitted so as not to break client confidentiality.
The second part I wrote as therapy and had not intended to include.
It wasn’t included in the original l publication
( I started shaking when I tried to write about the abuse so it is badly written and a great deal omitted)

I wrote and published this sci fi short story a few years ago (under the above title) when the human population was only 7.4 billion:
(1st published 4th April 2017)
It is now 8 billion.
Our cultural norms and the Protestant Ethic are causing the extinction of all life.
I wrote this as social satire and sympathetic magic
I realize my writing style doesn’t fit what people expect
My excuse –I majored in sociology not literature 😛
I wanted to put my idea that humans are not indigenous to the planet

They just mindlessly conform to what those in power and their entertainment media tell them.

Despite training “would be witches” last century and earlier this century I stopped believing that we create our own reality.
I now acknowledge that we do but that there are other variables influencing this:
not the least being the thoughts and words of other homo sapiens.
Hence the Witches Pyramid “says” To know: to Dare: to Will and TO KEEP SILENT
I used to tell neophytes that it is intent that matters and emotion that empowers.
We draw energy by chanting and dancing (the cone of power).
Most people would be aware of the idea of a self fulfilling prophecy:
“A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behaviour.” Wikipedia
The power of suggestion –When I am in too much pain to cope or my anxiety disorder kicks in I say to my self “RELAX” and “SMILE”.
Try saying smile to yourself and see what happens 😀
A few years ago a wise young lady suggested that I was an empath.
I initially thought “More New Age crap” but the concept fits me.
I have always been able to tell if people were lying and as a child thought that everyone could.
After typing the following I realize that I have gone off on a tangent. Oops!
My children used to call me Doctor Dolittle
(But if you have ever read the book; Hugh Lofting says that livestock don’t have thoughts or feelings: so I am different to the character in the book!)
I feel for non human life forms.
I will not kill anything including mice, rats or insects: or chop down trees.
I remove birds, animals and lizards from the road when they have been hit by the species that think they are the only species that matters.
When I ate meat I would have nightmares that I was an animal in a slaughter house.
I do what I can in the microcosm.
There is so much available on magic and spells these days:

When I collect the leaves from the Bay Laurel I thank both the tree and the leaves. I may seem weird to others but I don’t care.
Bay Leaf Spell
Prepare a container with live coals or charcoal blocks:

THANKS TO THE FLOWER POWER GENERATION
A post my daughter sent me (saying you will never be as cool as your grandmother) motivated me to write this.
These days the younger generation think they are shocking me by saying that they are gay or bi or walk around their house naked.
Seriously I am Flower Power Generation
My Wiccan tradition works skyclad (naked):
When I used to go to our local nudist beach: people would be both disgusted and horrified.
I would say “Yes! If God wanted us to be naked we would have been born that way.”
On each occasion I was just given a blank look:
Seriously, who wasn’t born naked ?
I have not been to this beach in a long time:
In the days that I went there everyone was friendly, like people in a country town, but apparently, and sadly, these days, it has a few creeps with binoculars sitting on the cliffs.
I was in “Women’s Liberation”
Women had no rights and no status and the majority of women believed this was how it should be.
We couldn’t
Have a bank account without a father or husband as guarantor
buy a house
and landlords would not rent to separated women:
I Googled this — “Women also faced financial discrimination and were seen as a high-risk investment by banks as little as just 50 years ago. It wasn’t until 1975 that women could open a bank account in their own name.”
My first job in the 1960’s was working with computers — which were the size of wardrobes in a refridgerated room:
A job that I was forced to give up because married women were not allowed to hold government jobs.
I only married because i was pregnant and unmarried women werew forced to give up their children.
A woman was expected to stay a virgin until she was married:
A man was expected to be promiscuous:
Never understood how that worked:
In the 1950s gay men were put into a mental institution (in South Australia — think it was prison in other countries)
AND THEN CAME THE SEXUAL REVOLUTION.

YIPPEE!
Gays could stop pretending that they were heterosexual.
And women could enjoy sex.
So many changes for the better in my life time
Now if only the multinational gods would stop raping the earth and start caring about the ecological balance

BIRDS/AHIMSA
I tried my best to practice ahimsa before I was aware of this word/concept
Impossible in a culture that believes only humans have a soul and only money matters
I Have fed the local birds ever since I moved here
Mindless automatons tell me
“Do not to feed the birds -they are meant to find their own food”
It doesn’t occur to them that the human plague (of 8 Billion) has destroyed the homes and food sources of all other life – making so many extinct.
I feed the crows too –one neighbour has complained about their noise
The other has told me that she likes the Ibis (that I feed) but not the crow.
Crows like many other life forms are disliked because of cultural programming
The crow I feed, feeds the baby before she? feeds herself
I wasn’t able to take a photo because the baby flies away when I walk outside – comes back when I go in.
Humans have this effect on me — have said I am anthrophobic for decades – don’t think it is an actual word)
I have always been a misfit in a culture –
Where sociopaths are successful
Psychopaths glorified
And it is necessary to be a mindless automaton to fit in.
Considering all the positive changes in my life time I am optimistic that
the caring, intelligent people will prevail and stop all life from becoming extinct.

I am amazed that I can read texts that are in French and follow most conversations
It is decades (1960s) since I studied French at high school and I didn’t think high school French would be that helpful
I was in “A” class in high school and we studied French and Latin
Latin is useful etymologically as words are often derived from Latin and Greek
We went to the UK for an holiday when I was 10 – by ship – on the return voyage I made friends with children from Sweden Germany and Greece — I understood what they were saying in their own language –replied in English – if I were younger I would understand this as possible but at age ten – I wasn’t expecting this

It took humanity 200,000 years to reach one billion and only 200 years to reach
seven billion. We are still adding an extra 80 million each year and are headed towards 10 billion by mid-century.

WE HAVE TO ADDRESS OVERPOPULATION
More people inevitably put more demands on the planet. More people require more food, water, sanitation, homes, public services, and amenities – but our Earth is struggling to cope. Populations of wild species have plummeted, global temperatures are rising, our seas are full of plastic and forests are disappearing.
Humans are directly responsible for the sixth mass extinction and the climate crisis, the most serious environmental threats our planet has ever faced.
In the rich world, we consume at astronomical and unsustainable levels. That cannot continue, and we must change our behaviour. Today, a child born in the US will produce 24 times more consumption carbon emissions per year than one born in Nigeria.
Addressing how people consume is not enough, however. We are already using the resources of more than one-and-a-half planets. Everyone has the right to a good quality of life and with increasing global affluence, the collective impact of billions
TOGETHER, WE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT
The UN’s projections show that very small changes in the size of families across the globe make an enormous difference – between a population of 7 billion and an unthinkable 16 billion by the end of the century.
We can achieve a sustainable global population when communities, governments and organisations take action to enable people to choose smaller families through women’s empowerment and easy access to high quality education and family planning. By doing so, we can ensure that, in the future, everyone can have a decent standard of living on a healthy planet.
Population Matters is putting population on the global agenda, bringing the issue to an international audience through our campaigning, education and research.
