WE HAD THE VOTE __ but that was all

We had the vote but—

I was in Women’s Liberation because:-

Women had no rights nor status

We couldn’t have a bank account

We couldn’t buy an house

 and landlords would not rent to separated women

police treated victims as if they were the criminal

I went to the police station and confronted them

They said

“You always go back”

To which I replied

“There is no where to go”

in my day there were no women’s shelters — no Domestic Violence Orders

If a woman was brave enough to accuse a man of rape the lawyers would say that she was a slut and asked for it

. The joke back than was that there was no such thing as rape! “A woman can run faster with her dress up than a man with his pants

This video although so funny does highlight the medical attitude to women
