I changed my mind a few times about blogging this

Telling myself it would be more productive putting the positive aspects of religion instead of the horror and damage religion has caused

Jesus was teaching how to live in harmony with one another

When Constantine decided to make Christianity the religion of Rome

There was a meeting in Nicaea to decide what to put in the bible and what to leave out

Yet it is still noticeable the Jesus was opposed to the status quo

I was brought up Church of England

And thought that there was something wrong with me because religion and our culture seemed wrong to me

The protestant ethic is causing the extinction of all life

WASPS don’t respect the earth or non-human life

They label cultures that live in harmony with the environment as primitive and inferior

The definition of fascism is “an absolute ideology”
western religions are absolute Ideologies

Hence say religion say fascism

it appears that most people think that non believers are  evil

why is worshiping a misogynist sadistic male who demands worship and animal and human sacrifice a good thing

I recently moved to a retirement village:

as i expected I am the only vegetarian and I am surrounded by Christians

I studied world religions as an elective at teachers college and researched further when I gave lectures on Wicca in the 1980s and early 1990s

I respect people’s religious beliefs so I do not argue religion

But I am patronised and preached to with ideas and concepts that are invalid

When I am told (often) that god is a loving god – I have said that the Koran and Old Testament are almost identical

What really gets me is how they can in interpret the book of Job

or Abraham sacrificing his son Isaac (Genesis 22)

as a loving god –

what loving  god would demand any sacrifice animal or human

and would a loving god desire worship?
