STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND

It is decades since I read Robert Heinlein’s “STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND”

This isn’t a critique on the novel — I just wanted to use the title

I spent an half century wishing I fitted in to our culture but in my old age I am glad that I didn’t

sociopaths are successful

Psychopaths glorified

And it is necessary to be a mindless automaton to fit in.

According to our culture only humans are sentient and other life forms don’t matter

as a child I tried to adhere to Ahimsa

a term and concept that I didn’t know then.

But my mother threatened to have me put in a mental institution when I didn’t want to eat meat

I was served the same meal for breakfast lunch and tea until I ate it

She also constantly told me

“You are useless; a failure; a disappointment; cannot do anything right: neither use nor ornament”

So I had no confidence

I am still ridiculed and abused for caring about insects and mice

I would never go fishing because I felt sorry for the fish as they were gasping for water

I still respect all life:

excepting those humans that don’t respect other life forms.

I have studied psychology and sociology –

the nurture argument doesn’t explain why I think like I do? Certainly  wasn’t learned behaviour

A “past life” maybe?

Humans judge and label one another by the way they look

I have experienced this from both sides:

 from being slim

to putting on weight and being treated with contempt

I have a friend who has a neuromuscular disorder that causes facial disfigurement who has and probably still is putting up with worse abuse than i

When I worked in a residentially facility for intellectually disabled I was friends with a resident who had Mayfan’s syndrome

He wasn’t intellectually disabled but in our age group people were put in institutions unnecessarily

e. g.

a lady pregnant out of marriage

a man who was dyslexic

and there’s more

this is from healthdirect

Marfan syndrome (also known as Marfan’s syndrome) is a disorder that affects the connective tissue that strengthens and stabilises the joints and muscles. It generally affects the limbs, but can also affect the skeleton, eyes, lungs, heart and nervous system. It is usually inherited from a parent with the condition

Although I may objectively understand why people are

 cruel

sadistic

Dishonest

jealous

steal

tell lies

con people

are two faced etc

I do not subjectively understand

I was labelled naive and gullible when I was younger

One of the good things that I have learned is that there are other humans who care about other life forms

Namaste

I love the meaning of this word

The quote is from chopra.com

One of the most common translations of namasté is “The divine light in me bows to the divine light within you.”

A SHORT STORY ABOUT HEALING THE  BLUE PLANET

I wrote and published this sci fi short story a few years ago (under the above title) when the human population was only 7.4 billion:

(1st published 4th April 2017)

It is now  8 billion.

Our cultural norms and the Protestant Ethic are causing the extinction of all life.

I wrote this as social satire and sympathetic magic

I realize my writing style doesn’t fit what people expect

My excuse –I majored in sociology not literature 😛

I wanted to put my idea that humans are not indigenous to the planet

A few lines  from this short story:

“Most humans think that those who live in harmony with the environment are primitive and inferior. Actually they don’t think.

They just mindlessly conform to what those in power and their entertainment media tell them.

They are really stupid but consider themselves superior to all other life forms because they talk:

They think if something or someone doesn’t talk they don’t understand.

They thoughtlessly destroy everything. They call some creatures vermin, when humans are the vermin. They kill insects and destroy all the trees despite the fact that insects and trees are essential.

And everything literally goes down the drain polluting the oceans instead of nourishing other life.”

In the following book I hope to help those who wish to develop their clairvoyant abilities.

In “The Clairvoyant Experiences Of A Sceptic” I told a few of my clairvoyant experiences.

Listening to others similar stories made me realize that

it is so much better if you can have these experiences first hand.

Kung fu tz  (Confucius) say “Perseverance prospers”

So don’t give up – you will succeed

And use the recorded meditations in my blog

The clairvoyant Experiences of a Sceptic is not a literary masterpiece

but a true story. I majored in sociology not literature

I dont know the meaning of life:

nor understand the nature of reality:

I do know physical death is not the end.

And there are so many amazing stories omitted so as not to break client confidentiality.

The second part I wrote as therapy and had not intended to include.

It wasn’t included in the original l publication

( I started shaking when I tried to write about the abuse so it is badly written and a great deal omitted)
